Home Rescue Fair To Help Las Vegas Residents Facing Foreclosure

-

Las Vegas, NV – September 3, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — A Home Rescue Fair will offer free help to Las Vegas residents facing foreclosure on Saturday Sept. 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Palace Station Hotel Casino, Grand Ballroom, 2411 West Sahara Ave. The fair is organized by the Alliance for Stabilizing our Communities, which is made up of local municipalities, government agencies and businesses, with the goal of helping local homeowners facing foreclosure. Ward 6 Councilman Steven D. Ross is scheduled to attend the event at 11:30 a.m.

Residents are warned to avoid solicitations where a fee is required to help save homeowners from foreclosure. Often fraud is involved when desperate homeowners pay money to someone in hopes of saving their house. Plenty of free resources are available to help residents avoid foreclosure, such as this Home Rescue Fair.

“Unfortunately, the Las Vegas valley has been devastated by the foreclosure tsunami so I know firsthand the detrimental effect this issue is having on our community,” Councilman Ross said. “Fairs like these, together with the resources that we are offering through the city of Las Vegas, will go a long way in giving residents the tools they need to make educated decisions about their future.”

To register for the Home Rescue Fair please call (702) 229-HOME (4663).  Walk-ins are welcome, but registration is preferred. Participants should bring loan documents, tax returns and other pertinent paperwork. For a complete list of paperwork needed visit www.stopnvforeclosures.org.

The event will be hosted by the cities of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson, Bank of America, Station Casinos, the National Urban League, National CAPACD, National Council of La Raza and Housing for Nevada.  Participation will include banks, counselors and other industry experts.

The city of Las Vegas has been taking action to curb the fallout from the foreclosure crisis. For more information call (702) 229-HOME (4663) or visit www.stopnvforeclosures.org.
