Washington, DC – June 16, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — Nevada Senator Harry Reid today received another update on the progress Bank of America has made on CEO Brian Moynihan’s commitment to improve the bank’s service to Nevada homeowners. During Reid’s meeting with Moynihan last month, Moynihan pledged to Reid that they would establish a hotline specifically for Nevadans who have mortgages with the bank, open homeowner resource centers in Henderson, Las Vegas and Reno, and devote a team of loan specialists to work with Reid’s staff on housing casework.
The hotline for Bank of America customers in Nevada who need help to keep their homes is now operational. The hotline number is 1-877-345-6416 and can be used to make an appointment at one of the resource centers or get assistance over the phone. The Henderson resource center opened on June 1st, and the Las Vegas and Reno resource centers are expected to open by June 28th. Bank of America loan specialists are currently working with Reid’s staff on housing casework.
“So far, Bank of America is following through on their commitment to me and the people of Nevada,” Reid said. “One of the biggest problems Nevadans came to me with when trying to deal with Bank of America was the fact that they couldn’t get a bank representative on the phone to discuss ways to keep their homes. As the bank works to alleviate that problem and continues to fulfill their pledge to our state, I will continue working to ensure they meet their end of the deal.”
Sen. Reid’s offices are available to help any struggling homeowner, regardless of who is carrying the mortgage. People in need of assistance should contact any one of Sen. Reid’s offices in Nevada for help.
