City Teams With Other Agencies For Foreclosure Prevention Forums

Las Vegas, NV – June 9, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — The city of Las Vegas, Community Services of Nevada, the Department of Housing and Urban Development and Fannie Mae are teaming up to provide information sessions designed to help homeowners in danger of losing their home to foreclosure.

These free sessions will explain the Making Home Affordable program and help homeowners prepare to discuss their options with their mortgage company if eligible for the program.

A session for Spanish speakers is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, at 11 a.m. at the East Las Vegas Community Senior Center, located at 250 N. Eastern Ave. An English language session is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, at 9 a.m. at the Texas Station hotel-casino, located at 2101 Texas Star Lane.

Those planning to attend these sessions must register by calling (702)229-4663.

The sessions will explain the eligibility requirements for the Making Home Affordable program, and attendees will receive information on forbearance, repayment and modification. In addition there will be information about how to spot and avoid scam artists who prey on homeowners who are having difficulties.
