Governor Jim Gibbons Issued the Following Statement Regarding Q2 Foreclosure Data Nevada

-

Carson City, NV (RealEstateRama) – July 25, 2008 – The revelation that one in every 43 Nevada homes received a foreclosure filing during the second quarter of 2008 is very troubling, and I would urge those families struggling during this difficult time to use the resources available to them to help cope. The Nevada Department of Business and Industry is available to assist Nevadans dealing with foreclosures, and I hope our citizens take advantage of this service. The state has also created a comprehensive Web site at foreclosurehelp.nv.gov.

In addition, it is my sincere hope that the legislation working its way through Congress will be of help to the people of Nevada. The state Housing Division is currently laying the groundwork for implementation of the appropriate provisions of the proposal in anticipation that the President will sign whatever legislation reaches his desk. The division’s efforts will help provide assistance to Nevadans more quickly once the new federal law takes effect.”
