WASHINGTON, D.C. – June 24, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — More than 50 representatives from local agencies and organizations working to end homelessness will visit selected area parks and neighborhoods early Wednesday and Thursday in an effort to connect the homeless in those areas with housing and other resources.

The effort is being led by the local Southern Nevada VA Healthcare System and is focused on reaching homeless veterans in our community, although any homeless individual encountered will be offered assistance.

From 5:30 to 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, outreach teams will be at the intersection of F Street and McWilliams Avenue, Molasky Family Park at Twain Avenue and Cambridge Street, the area near Woodlawn Cemetery at Las Vegas Boulevard and Foremaster Lane, Huntridge Circle Park on Maryland Parkway, the 700 block of Veterans Memorial Drive, and near the intersection of Nellis Boulevard and Gowan Road.

On Wednesday, outreach teams will also be near the intersection of Tony Bennett Way and Palos Verdes Street, and on the 400 block of North 4th Street.

On Thursday, outreach teams will also be at Jaycee Community Park at Eastern and St. Louis avenues, and on the 4000 block of Las Vegas Boulevard North.

During outreach efforts that occurred earlier today (Tuesday), outreach teams made contact with 75 homeless individuals.
