Las Vegas, NV – December 7, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — The city of Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency (RDA) is currently seeking volunteers to serve on a recently created, nine-member Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC). The CAC will give community members the opportunity to provide input and advice on Redevelopment Area projects and programs. The committee also will be able to propose new programs and projects. It is mandatory that all members serving on this advisory committee live or work in the Redevelopment Area or be specialists employed in specific fields detailed in the CAC bylaws. In addition, all advisory committee members will be appointed by the Las Vegas City Council for these unpaid positions.
All committee members will need to successfully complete a training course, which will familiarize them with the Redevelopment Area and its operations, as well as how redevelopment works in general.
The RDA promotes the redevelopment of downtown Las Vegas and surrounding older commercial districts by working with developers, property owners and the community to accomplish beneficial revitalization efforts, create jobs and eliminate urban decay. The RDA coordinates with the city of Las Vegas Office of Business Development on day-to-day operations, economic development and long-term strategic goals.
