The goal is to assist homeowners struggling or at risk of foreclosure. Fannie Mae and Financial Guidance Center, a HUD-approved housing counseling agency, will be available onsite to review specific mortgage situations, discuss options that may be available, and assist homeowners with completing required forms. Counselors will also explore options to avoid foreclosure, which may include helping Las Vegas homeowners obtain loan modifications, repayment and forbearance plans, refinancing, shortsales, Mortgage ReleaseTM (deed in lieu of foreclosure), or to discuss an offer they may have received but not understood.

In addition to foreclosure prevention services, interested homeowners can discuss their eligibility for the other services offered by Financial Guidance Center. Those services include free tax preparation, utility assistance, asset development programs, bankruptcy and credit counseling.

Following a series of housing and foreclosure prevention roundtables held to find new ways to help distressed borrowers, Fannie Mae partnered with the city of Las Vegas to pilot a new approach, bringing real options to homeowners.

“We are continuing to recover from the foreclosure crisis, but there are still homeowners who are looking for help with their options,” said Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman said. “Our goal is to work together to help local homeowners get in contact with the best people to discuss the best mortgage solutions for their needs.”

All homeowners with a Fannie Mae mortgage who are struggling to make their payments or are unsure of the available options should make an appointment to discuss mortgage solutions. If you have a mortgage serviced by Fannie Mae or Seterus and would like to discuss your specific mortgage situation and the options/solutions that may be available to you, please call 855-349-2293 or register online at KnowYourOptions.com/community to schedule your free one-on-one appointment with a Fannie Mae-certified housing advisor.
