The Washoe County Community Services Department’s Planning and Development Division is hosting a public workshop and open house regarding proposed amendments to Washoe County Code Chapter 110 (Development Code). The proposed updates focus on accessory structures and uses located on vacant property adjacent to a lot with a home or other established main use, and when both properties are under the same ownership.

ULI to Advise Reno, Nevada on Virginia Street Corridor

This week, an eight-person panel of nationally renowned land use, design, and urban planning experts will visit Reno, Nevada to evaluate how to improve the area’s livability and economic development potential. Volunteers, Donations Needed to Help Homeless

Project Homeless Connect is free to attend for those people who are homeless or at risk for becoming homeless. Attendees will be able to check-in from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 17. During last year’s event, about 400 volunteers helped about 3,000 homeless/at-risk people receive help with food, clothing, grooming, housing, transportation, job readiness, health care, mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment, child care, veterans assistance and legal services. A comprehensive census conducted in January revealed more than 7,500 homeless people staying in shelters or on the streets.

Las Vegas, NV - January 6, 2011 - (RealEstateRama) -- Effective January 31, 2011, The Federal Trade Commission has banned loan modification companies from charging up-front fees for negotiating modifications of residential mortgage loans. According to Eric Witksoki, Chief of the Attorney General’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, and the state consumer advocate, “Money spent on mortgage modification consultants is a bad bet for consumers.” Additionally, Witkoski commented that spending money on loan modification is “worse than some of the odds at the casino tables.”

The Bureau of Land Management Las Vegas Field Office is seeking public comments on a proposal to sell 40 parcels totaling 754.88 acres of public land in Clark County, Nevada. The competitive sale would be by sealed and oral bidding in accordance with the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act (SNPLMA). A Notice of Realty Action published in today’s Federal Register opens a 45-day comment period which will close January 8, 2018.
