City of Las Vegas residents are invited to the Development Services Center Thursday, May 29, starting at 6 p.m., for the third annual Homeowners Night. The center is located at 333 N. Rancho Drive. In an op-ed which ran in The Hill today, U.S. Senators Dean Heller (R-NV) and Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) called on Congress to renew the Mortgage Forgiveness Tax Relief Act to help the millions of families across the country struggling to avoid foreclosure and stay in their homes.

Today, U.S. Senator Dean Heller (R-NV) penned a letter to the Chairman and Ranking Member of the Senate Finance Committee, asking them to move forward on tax extenders legislation. In the letter, Heller urges the Committee to include a continuation of the state and local sales tax deduction. This tax deduction is “a vital component of our economy, spurring growth and creating jobs,” Heller said

Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez will host a Twitter Town Hall as part of National Consumer Protection Week. This event, an initiative of the Home Again: Nevada Homeowner Relief Program will give Nevadans the opportunity to ask housing counselors about buying a home, credit restoration, loan modification, foreclosure and other free resources available to all Nevadans.
